New Tax amnesties announced by HMRC could affect you

HM revenue and Customs (HMRC) has set it’s sights on three specific groups in which they perceive that insufficient tax is being paid, these are ; private tutors and coaches, both academic and fitness,  e-marketplace traders and tradesmen.

A date for the amnesty has not yet been announced and there is no promise of an amnesty for those that come forward, but it has been made clear that anyone who makes a disclosure and puts their tax affairs in order before they are ‘found out’ will receive better terms.

WMT, accountants and tax specialists in St Albans comment: ‘This tax amnesty could affect a number of people including those in St Albans, if you do think it will affect you we recommend that you seek advice.’ Anne-Maree Dunn, Tax Partner
