The Practice

WMT is a progressive eight partner practice based in St Albans. We are a leading practice, servicing the South East.  We provide a vast range of services, including advisory, tax, audit, accounting and corporate finance.

We have a large portfolio of clients, including business clients from a range of industries and sectors, including property, recruitment, technology, manufacturing, private clients, charity and not for profit, and pensions.

Academic Requirements

We offer a 3 year ACA training contract and are looking for applications from high quality graduates and school leavers
Our minimum academic requirements are:-

  • 300 UCAS points obtained or expected
  • 2.1 degree obtained or expected for a relevant degree and 2.1 degree obtained or expected for a non relevant degree, for graduate applications
  • Evidence of self-motivation, enthusiasm, team skills and ability to communicate

Training

We take training very seriously, and we will give you our support to achieve your highest potential.
We support our students by providing them with:-

  • Exam tuition from recognised tutors to enable you to pass your ACA exams.
  • Practical training from an external provider to give you the practical skills that you require throughout your training contract.
  • On the job training. Gradually increasing your responsibility for working with our clients.

Career Development

We want our students to take early responsibility for their work. You can expect to be working with our clients as soon as you start work with us. You will initially be helping more senior staff with audits and accounts preparation work. You will soon progress to running small jobs by yourself – this includes dealing directly with our clients and reporting to partners and managers. By the end of your three year training contract you will have gained the skills to enable you to take responsibility for delivering some of our largest audits, supervising other team members and dealing with all our clients’ needs.

We operate a development review system to monitor each individual student’s progress. This covers:-

  • Reviewing work and exam progress
  • Identifying individual training needs
  • Setting personal goals
  • Identifying a career path

In addition, all students are allocated a mentor who provides help and guidance dependent on the student’s needs.
